Ibrahim Umara is a Professor of International Relations and Strategic Studies, coordinator Peace Building, Conflict Management and Development Studies with the Center for Peace Diplomatic and Development Studies, University of Maiduguri. He was a Former Head, Department of Political Science at the Same University. Professor Umara has received several awards, grants and fellowships to travel abroad, conduct research, attend conferences and workshops in an effort to internationalize the campus. Professor Umara is author of National Interest and Foreign policy options for Nigeria in the Central African Subregion. Geo Strategic Implications of Receding Lake Chad on National Food Security of Nigeria, Common Pools Resources and Conflict management in Hadeja-Jamaare and Kumadugu Yobe Basin and many scholarly publications and research reports for International Alert, British Council’s Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Project and Managing Conflict in Nigeria (MCN) as well the , United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
