Sadiya Umar Farouk
Sadiya Umar Farouk was born on 5th November,1974 in Zurmi LGA, Zamfara State. She is a Nigerian business administrator, politician and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development. She is the youngest minister in President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration
Sadiya Umar Farouk attended Federal Government Girl College Gusau, Zanfara State where she obtained her West African Secondary School Certificate (WASC).
She proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where she obtained a degree in Business Administration in 1998.
In 2008, Sadiya Umar Farouk obtained a masters degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
In 2011, she obtained a masters degree in Business administration from the same university.
Sadiya Umar Farouk served as Senate Committee on Aviation and worked with the Senate Committee on Appropriation in the National Assembly between 1999-2000
In 2001, Sadiya Umar Farouk was employed as operational manager Pinnacle Travels and Tours Ltd (a Nigerian travel agency)
In 2003, she was employed as Administrative officer II at the National Assembly Service Commission. Before leaving the National Assembly Service Commission in 2010 she was the Principal Administrative Officer.
Sadiya Umar Farouk was the National Treasurer of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) from 2011 to 2013.
Following a merger of political parties which gave birth to APC, she became the National Treasurer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from June 2013 to June 2014. She was also part of the team that led the All Progressive Congress (APC) to victory in the 2015 general election.
In 2016, Sadiya Umar Farouk was appointed Honourable Federal Commissioner (HFC) of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) by President Buhari.
In 2019, Sadiya Umar Farouk was appointed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development by President Buhari.
